4-Port 2420SA Serial ATA II RAID Controller Details

The Adaptec® Serial ATA II RAID 2420SA card is a four-port controller that supports SATA or SATA II direct attached disk drives. It features the Adaptec AIC-8210 SATA RAID-on-Chip (ROC) ASIC and Adaptec RAID Code (ARC) with standard RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Offering a PCI-X 64-bit/133 MHz host interface its four ports can support up to four Serial ATA and Serial ATA II drives. Moreover, it delivers data transfer rates up to 3 Gbps while also supporting up to 1.5 Gbps (SATA I). In addition to the integrated ROC ASIC, the card provides 128 MB of ECC-protected DDR DRAM. The included Adaptec Storage Manager (ASM) tool centralizes management of all Adaptec RAID products. Additionally it also enables remote RAID management, monitoring, and configuration through secure and encrypted communication. With features like Hot spares, RAID Level Migration, Online Capacity Expansion, Optimized Disk Utilization and more, the 4-port 2420SA SATA II RAID controller provides high sustained read and write levels for servers and workstations.
